CONFLICT RESOLUTION EXPERIENCE
In Alan’s role as Ethics Team Leader for Boeing, among his
responsibilities, he was both a member and was responsible
for facilitation activities for the Employee Corrective Action
Review Board (ECARB). This board would determine the
appropriate course of discipline for employees who violated
Company policy or procedure and included participants
from diverse disciplines including Management, Ethics,
Human Resources, Employee Relations, Security and Legal.
In his role as facilitator, Alan presented the facts of the
investigation and the members would discuss and present
their recommendations. Typically, each member brought
a divergent perspective. Alan routinely resolved conflicts
by focusing participants on the facts of the investigation,
offering past precedent and alternative considerations.
Alan was also the Special Compliance Officer for the Boeing
China Consent Agreement signed with the US Department
of State.
