CONFLICT RESOLUTION EXPERIENCE
During eight years on the bench, Judge Porter served as Chief Judge for two terms and presided over civil motion calendars, jury trials and settlement conferences. He also founded the first Business Court in Nevada dealing exclusively with business litigation.
Before he was appointed to the bench, Judge Porter was elected to four terms on the Nevada State Assembly (1986-1994), where he served as Majority Leader and Vice Chairman of the Judiciary Committee. Judge Porter was in private practice with a number of Las Vegas law firms from 1981-1995, specializing in general civil litigation with an emphasis on personal injury, civil and corporate litigation, and administrative law.
