Hon. Robert L. Roberson, Ret.
Judge Roberson was a consummate trial attorney for 20 years before being appointed to the Los Angeles County Superior Court in 1979. After a distinguished career as a trial judge, he was appointed to the Appellate Division by the Judicial Chairperson in 1988, where he served with distinction until 1998. Of that ten years, five years were as its Presiding Judge. Respected for his fairness and outstanding settlement skills, Judge Roberson settled a prodigious number of cases that were referred to him by other judges and attorneys in addition to his regular appellate duties.

While he was a Superior-Court Judge, he was twice appointed Justice Pro Tempore to the Court of Appeal, where six of the opinions authored by him were published, including the often-cited case Younan v. Equifax (1980) 111 C.A.3d 498.

Judge Roberson was President of the John M. Langston Bar Association in 1977 and 1978, a Trustee of the Los Angeles County Bar Association from 1978 to 1980, and President of the USC-Law School Alumni Association from 1982 to 1983. He has taught Civil Procedure at California State University Los Angeles, spoken at many Bar Association seminars, and served as moderator for several CEB programs.
