Hon. Philip M. Saeta, Ret.
Judge Saeta’s knowledge of civil law and procedure, combined with his settlement ability and his dedication, have made him one of the outstanding neutrals of his time. His talent lies partly in quickly zeroing in on the pivotal issues that need to be examined for settlement or adjudication. The quality of this judge’s reasoning has earned him a reputation as one of the most trusted arbitrators in the area, who is “one of the most well-received by both sides.”

Judge Saeta graduated from Stanford Law School Phi Beta Kappa, and was in civil litigation at a top Los Angeles firm for six years before becoming a judge.

As one of the most influential judges in Los Angeles County, he was consistently involved in overseeing judicial education and Rules of Court, and in crafting legislation concerning court administration. He has also served on the leadership committees of the American Bar Association, the California Judges Association, the Los Angeles County Bar Association, and CJER. He has been a lecturer and Adjunct Professor of Law for universities and CEB, teaching law and motion, jury instructions, civil trials, and evidence.
