Hon. H. Lee Sarokin, Ret.
Judge Sarokin is one of only a few private judges in the entire country who served on both the United States District Court and the United States Court of Appeals. His 17 years on the federal bench were preceded by 25 years as a litigator representing both plaintiffs and defendants in all types of complex litigation, resulting in experience in almost all fields of the law. Judge Sarokin has authored more than 2,000 written opinions, settled approximately 3,000 cases and presided over more than 1,000. During his federal tenure, he was involved in numerous class action suits, every conceivable federal claim coming before the courts, and a panoply of state issues arising under diversity jurisdiction.

While serving as a judge, he was a favorite among lawyers for his knowledge, patience, courtesy, quickness and sense of humor, and his courtroom was coveted as the most pleasant place in which to try a case. Recognized for his decisiveness and scholarship, he was also renowned for his ability to bring parties together in extremely contentious and complex cases. Judge Sarokin now brings all of that skill and experience to the world of private judging. He has recently moved to California after retiring from the federal court.

All complex litigation, including intellectual property, entertainment, business, environmental, and employment matters.

In addition to his many unpublished decisions, opinions by Judge Sarokin have been published in the Federal Reports on the following subjects: cigarette litigation/the Cipollone case; ERISA; age discrimination; environmental claims; race discrimination (individual and class action suits); EPA violations; building contracts; Education of the Handicapped Act; FDIC; and many other subjects.
