Abbas Hadjian is an internationally recognized California Certified Family Law Specialist (CFLS). He is a Fellow of the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers (AAML) and the International Academy of Family Lawyers (IAFL). Mr. Hadjian is a bilingual (Farsi and English) and an expert in cultural issues, mainly Iranian legal documents, Civil and Family Law, and Procedure. He has testified in the Federal, State, and Australian Courts.`` He is the author of “Divorce in California,” a self-help book in Farsi, published in 2001, and Culturally Speaking, a column in the Los Angeles Daily Journal addressing the peculiarities of the cultural divorces. Since 2013, he has organized day-long seminars on Cultural Competency in Family Practice, presented by the IALA and LACBA at the University of West Los Angeles (UWLA) and supported by many California Family Law Organizations. He is a source of information and comparison between Iranian and California jurisprudence worldwide. During the past 35 years in California, Mr. Hadjian has been a legal analyst and specialist (live television and radio commentator in Farsi) for cases involving Islamic Dowry, Child custody, and Support. Mr. Hadjian follows significant changes in Iranian law and procedures as they affect properties and personal relations. He keeps an updated library of Iranian civil and criminal codes and relevant legal publications in his office. He is in ongoing contact with the legal community in Iran.
