Robert M. Cohen is an effective, earnest, and practical mediator possessing excellent interpersonal communication skills. Formerly a partner with Cohen Stimpert & Ford, Cohen has handled a wide variety of litigation matters involving personal injury, collection matters, landlord tenant/leasing matters, business, and homeowner association disputes. To date, Cohen has tried more than 100 bench, arbitration and jury trials and has mediated over 100 matters as a single mediator; he has participated in over 300 mediation matters as a litigator. He is known for his ability to bring closure to contentious, personality driven disputes.

EXPERIENCE

Personal Injury Claims: Mr. Cohen has litigated, mediated, arbitrated and tried soft tissue and catastrophic injuries claims involving automobiles, bicycles, scooters, motorcycles, trucks, buses, taxis, pedestrians, driving under the influence, wrongful death, uninsured and underinsured motorist claims. Likewise, he has litigated, mediated, arbitrated, and tried claims for slip/trip and falls, sidewalk defects (involving commercial, residential, and public property), dog bites, trivial defects and dangerous condition claims, elevator and escalator, and construction accidents.

Business Disputes: Mr. Cohen has litigated, mediated, arbitrated and tried commercial leasing and landlord-tenant, homeowner association, commercial eviction, real property boundary and easement disputes, trespass/nuisance, mechanics lien/construction claims, partnership dissolutions, family corporation disputes, international/ domestic commercial collection claims and breach of contract claims.
