Mediator/Arbitrator

Joseph Davis has more than 45 years as a civil trial attorney, mediator, and arbitrator. He has been the sole arbitrator or a member of a three arbitrator panel in more than 50 arbitrations. As a mediator, his style of conflict resolution creates a trusting, comfortable, non-adversarial setting which facilitates the parties in reaching a binding resolution. His experience as a civil litigator with more than 100 jury trials convinced him that there is a better way to achieve the goals of the parties.


ORGANIZATIONS & ACHIEVEMENTS

  • In addition to his law practice, Mr. Davis served on multiple occasions as a panelist for the Los Angeles Trial Lawyers’ Association (now CAALA), California Continuing Education of the Bar and the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants. He also held the position of Adjunct Professor of Law at California College of Law. In 2022, Mr. Davis was the Presiding judge on a three judge panel in Round 3 of the prestigious national law school competition, “ Tournament of Champions Trial Competition”. In 2023, Mr. Davis was the presiding judge in national law school mock trial competition.

CONFLICT RESOLUTION EXPERIENCE

Joseph Davis has represented litigants in major, multi-party labor and employment cases as well as multi-million-dollar medical malpractice, wrongful death and serious personal injury cases.

Mr. Davis has been a member of the California State Bar since 1977. He served as a mediator on a wide variety of matters, including labor and employment. He also served as a Judge Pro Tem in the Los Angeles Superior Court on more than 1,000 cases. He has served as Arbitrator with the American Arbitration Association for seven years and the National Association of Securities Dealers (now FINRA) for eight years.
